5 HERO SLOPES

Ski instructor, freerider, telemarker, a lover of the wilderness and unspoilt places (the Burfjord fjord is his second home, where he collaborates with the Moonlight brand), Julian Giacomelli is one of Livigno's most prolific and well-known pro-skiers. Last winter we asked him which were his favourite slopes. Here's what he told us.

POLVERE
I especially like the Powder because it guarantees snow in excellent condition throughout the winter season and has a wonderful view across the valley of Livigno. Thanks to its stepped gradient and its breadth, it allows beginners to try a higher level of slope while at the same time providing experts with a particular thrill.

CROCE & LARICI
The strengths of this slope lie in the two spectacular walls that take you from Rifugio Costaccia to the intermediate station of the Livigno Centro cableway. It allows Skiers to try and achieve perfect technique. Well taken curves and control over your speed will allow you to enjoy it to the fullest.

GESSI
The Gessi slope overlooks the beautiful and unspoilt Val Federia. In addition to the wonderful natural panorama, it provides skiers with a creative area, full of bumps and changes of direction. The slope also includes a wall that recalls very sharp and technical curves. Imagination, scenery and fun are the elements that make this slope one of the best in our resort.

BLESACCIA & ZUELLI
The Blesaccia-Zuelli is the only slope that takes skiers from the very top of Livigno straight down to the valley. You can admire the whole town and a large number of Alpine peaks. Skiers can experience the challenge of facing almost 1000 metres of altitude difference all in one go. The final wall is the icing on the cake that maximises the technical characteristics of the slope.

NATALE
The Natale slope starts at the Rifugio Costaccia, where you can admire the panorama of the valley of Livigno covered in snow. There is a steep initial section, but then the gradient fades so that the skier is faced with a more tranquil section surrounded by the woods. This slope allows you to really enjoy it and has the characteristic of being one of the slopes at high altitude that can be skied in any condition.
