Open letter to the outdoor lovers

In order to contain the diffusion of Coronavirus, the Italian Authorities took drastic actions that determined the closure of all the ski areas. In complete accordance with this decision, Carosello 3000 – ski area in Livigno (Lombardia), which stands out for supporting the freeride movement – wanted to send a message of encouragement to all the enthusiasts of the mountain, starting from a video that was meant to be published as an invite to reach the area after a big snowfall.

We would have liked to publish this freeride video to invite you to take your skis, the wide ones, get in the car with your friends heading to Livigno, at the extreme north of the Italian Alps. Just in these days a big snowfall coloured the peaks in a pure and immaculate white, like we haven’t seen in a long time.

Unfortunately, the particular situation in which our region is (we are in Lombardy) doesn’t allow us to invite you here to enjoy this natural beauty and to draw with us soft lines in the fresh snow. We therefore use these images recorded on the Monte Garone (with descent in the Valle del Monte) and on the Corno di Capra (Valle delle Mine), to launch a message of encouragement, that comes from the heart of our Mountain.

The nature is strong, we know that. In front of her we feel fragile, often powerless, for sure always delighted. In some moments, particular places or natural events can even scare us. But it’s always the nature that finally hugs us, fills us with joy and gives us an immense strength and determination.

During this time of lock down, we won’t stop to plan new adventures to live together with you, when everything will be back to normality. Do the same. Draw on a sheet, track the lines on the maps, dream your next outdoor adventure. And if you can, continue to explore in respect of common sense and of all the rules of your country.

We take this opportunity to thank you all for the hundreds of messages of support and love you sent us from every angle of the planet. From our side, we wish good luck to all the lovers of the outdoors, the Mountain and Livigno.

We are sure that we will be back very soon to hug each other and to celebrate our days off outside. Thanks to your support we will be stronger than before and even more conscious to live the sport and the outdoors respecting the nature around us and feeling once again our freedom.
